IAG AIR / OIL SEPARATOR (AOS) FITS 2022-26 SUBARU WRX

SAFEGUARD YOUR ENGINE

The IAG Air / Oil Separator (AOS) is a smart move to protect your Subaru's engine. Developed over years of extensive testing on a range of standard and competitive applications, the IAG AOS offers unparalleled protection for your 2022-2026 WRX FA24F 2.4L engine. Our exclusive AOS design incorporates a 1-liter cast aluminum swirl pot canister that significantly improves oil separation from the PCV system before returning PCV gasses to the intake. Crafted from a lightweight yet durable aluminum housing, the IAG AOS provides enhanced ventilation and features an innovative baffle design that sets it apart from the competition. This AOS works with all fuel types, improves crankcase ventilation, and incorporates our innovative baffle design that sets it apart from competitors' products.

Oil in the intake tract and intercooler

PREVENTS OIL FROM ENTERING THE INTAKE

Oil seeping into the engine's intake tract can have detrimental effects. It is vital to prevent oil from entering the engine intake to avoid premature mechanical issues and uphold optimal performance in your Subaru. Oil coated components in the intake, intercooler, and plumbing can cause rubber and silicone hose connections to deteriorate. Once inside the intake tract, the oil can affect the intake manifold and then the engine’s combustion chamber, potentially triggering detonation, pre-ignition, excessive emissions, smoke, power loss, reduced fuel efficiency, and even engine damage or complete engine failure.

AOS Air Flow

MAINTENANCE FREE

Unlike ordinary catch-can systems, the IAG Air / Oil Separator functions without the need for routine draining or maintenance. The oil separated by the AOS gathers along the canister walls, gradually draining into the engine's crankcase. The spacious design of the IAG AOS prevents overflow by facilitating slow drainage, whereas smaller catch cans may struggle to keep pace and often need manual draining. Our exclusive heating system ensures that the collected oil stays clear of sludge, minimizing the risk of reintroducing it into the engine.

How the IAG Air / Oil Separator (AOS) Functions

HOW DOES THE AOS FUNCTION AND WHAT'S INSIDE?

The IAG Air / Oil Separator uses a unique baffle system to collect and drain the oil from your engine's PCV gasses back to the crankcase. The AOS body's inlet hoses create an internal gas vortex, which then filters through the baffles, trapping the oil and allowing the gas to escape from the top of the AOS canister. Because the OEM PCV remains functional, the engine is also able to provide additional vacuum, which helps to remove more of the PCV gasses.

WORKS WITH THE OEM PCV SYSTEM

The IAG Air / Oil Separator works with the OEM PCV system, boosting its capacity. It helps channel PCV gasses to the intake manifold by using an OEM Style PVC check valve, providing increased suction and air-oil separation. In ethanol-fueled applications, it prevents oil from entering the intake and fuel dilution of the engine's lubrication system.

LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN

Crafted with a lightweight yet sturdy aluminum housing, the IAG Air / Oil Separator is even lighter than our previous AOS iterations. Whether you're drag racing or hitting the track in your Subaru, we value the importance of weight savings. This is why we've fine-tuned and lightened this AOS design to enhance your Subaru's overall performance, guaranteeing you get the best results every time you race or hit the track.

AOS Coolant Flow

REDUCES CONDENSATION BUILDUP

The IAG Air / Oil Separator features a proprietary heating system that capably handles issues frequently encountered in lower-quality catch cans. Unlike inferior designs that allow hot PCV gasses to pass through cold passages, leading to condensation mixing with oil and causing sludge, IAG's improved design is linked to the vehicle's cooling system. This enables the transfer of heat from the engine into the AOS canister. By heating the AOS canister to the engine's temperature, condensation and associated buildup are significantly diminished or completely eliminated.

IAG Air / Oil Separator (AOS) SAE Quick Connection Lines

SAE QUICK CONNECTION LINES

The IAG Air / Oil Separator is equipped with a full set of custom-length SAE Quick Connection lines, making installation easier and reducing the risk of leaks with a more reliable and secure connection than standard hose clamps. Once installed, the IAG AOS system has the appearance of a factory component that seamlessly blends in with your Subaru’s engine.

EASY INSTALLATION

We’ve designed the IAG Air / Oil Separator to make the system as easy to install as possible for the 2022-2026 WRX. The connection hoses at the canister are custom fitted SAE Quick Connection lines that are the exact length to reach the corresponding engine parts. The IAG Air Oil Separator also includes pre-cut and crimped hoses on applicable Subaru models. The IAG AOS is available in your choice of black, red or neon yellow to complement the engine bay of your Subaru.

Not as hard as it seems

Buddy and I both installed ours ourself. Took us about an hour and half and that was also doing a pitch mount and a turbo inlet at same time. Pretty easy install and great product.

Just do it

New to Subarus but this has always been the topic I’ve seen from all the forums and groups when it comes to first mods you should do to extend the life of your car. Excellent quality and worth the money.

I’m not a mechanic

I’m not a mechanic and I got it in fairly easy so I give it the best rating

GOOD STUFF!!

Let me start off by saying in no way am I a talented mechanic. This truly has to be a must do for any owner of a Subaru with a turbocharged engine.

I will confess that it took me way longer than the video did. Not because it was difficult, but that I am not the fastest in the world. I wanted to be careful and follow the excellent instructions. As far as the instructions, I would recommend that you watch the video that can be found on the website that is posted on YouTube. I also found one by Smeedia on YouTube that was really good also. I actually referred to the video and the pdf of the instructions.

For me, removing everything was the hardest. If there is a sticking point to the installation, for me it was the fitting that replaces the PCV valve. I believe I found a method that I hope helps others. I couldn't get my 65 year old hands to hold the fitting upright while I tried to thread it in.

This is what I did. Take a long screwdriver and put the fitting on it. Kind of like putting a hot dog on a skewer. Then put the screwdriver into the hole left by the PCV valve and tilt it down keeping the blade of the screwdriver in the hole. I used a long thin screwdriver, but I believe as long as the fitting slides, you're good to go. Then I was able to use the screwdriver and my fingers to the the threads started. I finished with my trusty Craftsman 19MM deep socket and a long extension. Don't panic if it doesn't go totally down in the hole. I didn't use a lot of sealant tape and mine stopped with about a 1/4 inch of thread showing.

This is a quality product made by quality people. Definitely something to make your WRX last longer.

Install went as planned, but Installation documentation needs to be updated

Received the new kit with the quick connect hoses. I haven't done any modifications under the hood and this was my first. I watched many videos for the IAG AOS install for the VB WRX on youtube including the official IAG video. Only issue I ran into was the Y Hose. In their PDF instructions and youtube video, it shows the short hose connecting to the bottom of the can (drain) and the long hose going to one of the side ports. The connectors wouldn't fit in this configuration so it had to be switched. The long hose to the bottom and short hose to the side port. I emailed to checked with IAG support and confirmed this was an intentional change. Everything else went fine. Been running for a week with the AOS installed and no issues.

My first engine mod went pretty smoothly

This was my first ever engine mod for any car and I don't have much mechanical experience. Initially there were no instructions posted with this product, but they have since added a video showing how to do it. What was nice as well was the installation instructions for the old version of the product is mostly applicable. Installation overall was moderately easy, just kindof time consuming and a bit daunting (for me) because you have to take many things out of the car. The new version is much improved with the quick connect hoses instead of having to use the clamps.

I initially ran into an issue with cutting the factory PCV line as directed. What I found easier was to take a pair of groove point pliers and SQUEEZE the middle of the connector and it should break.

My 27mm socket also wasn't deep enough, so I had to take an Uber to/from the hardware store to grab a deeper one. MAKE SURE ITS DEEP. I would also recommend a deep 19mm socket for installing the replacement assembly they give, as they don't mention that in the list of tools.

AIG delivers. And then some!

Everyone who’s done any research on the matter, knows that AIG is the #1 name when it comes to air/oil separation. Purchased direct from IAG and delivery was almost obscenely fast. After making sure I had all of the necessary tools in order, I installed it solo. Again, I was surprised at how easily installation went. Auto/quick connect fittings at precise angles for each application made it practically fool proof. Information readily available for install inquiries. IAG will be the first place I look for any performance parts going forward.

If you are installing this on a 2026 you are cooked! This is ridiculous, there is no possible way to install the 45° in front of the manifold. Also, the hose that connects to the turbo doesnt work at all. Wrong connector even though instructions tell you it works. They didn't include the right hose in my kit. Big disappointment.

No good.

I had to break a piece of my vehicle off in order to go through the process of getting the vehicle ready to install this. And then I came to a point where the 90-degree fitting on the Y-hose *doesn't fit* the side port of the AOS can where it's *supposed* to fit. This is unacceptable for such an expensive piece of hardware.

My vehicle is now apart, and I cannot put it back together until I finish this AOS... and nobody sells the fitting that I need. And iag is closed during the weekend... and I don't recommend anyone purchase this trash.

I'm sure that they will send me either a new fitting or better-yet, an entire *properly assembled* Y-hose; but that doesn't fix my rating. This is still unacceptable. Another common problem is that they don't include the P-clamp/P-clip. It's simply not a part of the kit even though they claim it is, not as big of a deal as part of the AOS not even fitting where it's supposed to. The hose is also just-barely long enough with the 90-degree "fitting," so, I can't just cut it off and use a metal clamp.

Amazing

the install was very simple. This is my first somewhat hard mod that I’ve done and it was very straight and simple. I was recommended to get a aos from a lot of other people and finally gave in. Was also recommended to get this one for the quality. 10/10 product if I could rate it higher I would

Air Oil Separator

Very well thought out and designed product. I have used AOS devices on other vehicles in the past but they can’t hold a candle to this one. Love the fact that I don’t have to manually empty it regularly. Highly recommend this product to anyone with a Subaru.

Only thing I’d say is send instructions in the box and also be a little more clear for people who are not as experienced.

Hello, I'm in California and seems like everything needs to be carb legal. Is this carb legal ? Or does it not count as emissions related ? Thanks
