The IAG Performance Air / Oil Separator (AOS) is a smart upgrade for your Subaru. Developed through years of meticulous testing on standard and competitive applications, the design of the AOS offers unparalleled protection for your engine. This AOS features a 1-liter swirl pot canister made of cast aluminum. This construction significantly enhances the separation of oil from the PCV system before the PCV gasses are directed back to the intake system. The Air Oil Separator features an aluminum housing that has superior ventilation, and it incorporates an exclusive baffle design that sets it apart from the competition. The IAG AOS works with all fuel types, optimizes crankcase ventilation, and seamlessly integrates with standard ECU settings, so no tuning is required.
KEEPS OIL OUT OF THE INTAKE
The presence of oil within the engine's intake tract brings about a range of adverse effects, so preventing oil from entering the engine intake is crucial for avoiding premature mechanical issues and maintaining optimal performance. Initially, the oil coats the internal components of the intake, intercooler, and piping, which can potentially harm or prematurely deteriorate rubber or silicone hoses, eventually leading to compromised connections. Once the oil enters the intake tract, it has access to the intake manifold and then the engine’s combustion chamber. Oil inside the chamber has the potential to trigger detonation, pre-ignition, excessive emissions, smoke generation, power loss, reduced fuel efficiency, and in extreme cases, severe engine damage or even complete engine failure.
NO MAINTENANCE NEEDED
The IAG AOS is designed for effortless upkeep. Unlike typical catch-can systems, our Air Oil Separators operate without the need for routine draining and maintenance. Separated oil gathers on AOS can walls and slowly drains into the engine's crankcase. With the help of our unique heating system, the collected oil remains free of sludge, ensuring that there is no risk of reintroducing it into the engine. The substantial size of the AOS body allows for a safe and gradual oil drainage process, effectively removing the chance of overflow commonly observed in smaller catch cans.
HOW DOES THE AOS OPERATE? WHAT’S INSIDE?
The IAG Air / Oil Separator features a unique baffle system that captures the oil suspended in your engine's PCV gasses, which are then able to drain back into the crankcase. The AOS body's inlet hoses are set up to create an internal gas vortex, which is then filtered through a series of baffles. The baffles gather the oil while enabling the gasses to exit from the upper part of the AOS canister. As the factory PCV remains active, this allows the engine to generate a vacuum in the AOS assembly to draw out even more of the PVC gasses.
IMPROVES UPON THE OEM PCV SYSTEM WITH NEW CHECK VALVE
The AOS integrates with the OEM PCV system, while also providing a boost to its capacity. The AOS directs PCV gasses to the intake manifold, using an upgraded OEM style PCV valve for additional suction and air-oil separation. For applications using ethanol fuel, the AOS provides protection against problems like fuel dilution of the engine's lubrication system.
MINIMIZES CONDENSATION BUILDUP
The IAG Air / Oil Separator uses a unique heating system to solve problems found in lesser catch cans. In inferior models, hot PCV gasses pass through a cold pathway, which causes condensation that mixes with the oil and causes sludge. IAG’s upgraded design attaches to the vehicle’s cooling system, allowing heat from the engine to transfer into the AOS canister. By warming the AOS canister to the engine's temperature, condensation and related buildup are greatly reduced or eliminated.
EASY INSTALLATION
Our engineers set out to make the system as easy to install as possible. The connection hoses at the canister are custom fitted SAE Quick Connection lines that are the exact length to reach the corresponding engine parts. The AOS is available in your choice of black, red or neon yellow to accent the engine bay of your Subaru.

Hi guys! I live in Ukraine. The package was destroyed by russian missiles attack in international postal terminal in Kyiv at night 18th of July...and I didn't get it..( so, maybe next time my Scoobie will install it.
However, IAG AOS is very good quality device, which does work excellent. There are many Subie equipped IAG AOS take part Timeattack racing in Ukraine.

3 stars because the install is a huge pain and doesn’t work the way they tell you to install it, it makes it so the turbo can not be installed you have to reroute about 3-4 hoses but quality of the product and function is 5 star

This updated V3 version was as simple as it could be with the quick connect fittings. The quality of all components is top tier. The IAG YouTube how to was spot on and super helpful to get this installed correct the first time. Definitely takes some time but well worth the effort. The hardest part of the install is getting the Y fitting back into the engine. The instructions say to keep bottom clamp loose, and the video said to pre tighten. Wasn't able to get the Y on and then tighten the bottom clamp and had to pre tighten and force it on. Found out my clamps were slightly different and switching them around made it possible. (Maybe a figment of my imagination). Lastly having a long pick like used in the video makes getting the lower intercooler pipe back into the turbo possible, along with sliding the band clamp over the turbo and then positioning after the pipe is seated. * Note there may be additional parts included in the kit that may not be required for your application.

Packaging was good, instructions were tough to follow even after videos. Looks great. Give yourself a full day to install everything and test if your. Hobbyist and not full time mechanic.

I want to say first off, my car is a late 2009/early 2010 model WRX. Apparently, it utilized a b*stardized old and new PCV system, which made it a very difficult install, requiring some additional larger diameter hoses and adapters. The system is already a time consuming install that requires a lot of patience, but the additional parts necessary to work didn't help. Be flexible with the install instructions. Adapt as necessary. That being said, ease of install should NOT be a reason not to buy this product. The fact is, the way its installed enhances the effectiveness of the PCV system. The factory PCV system can be overworked very easily, especially when adding mild bolt ons and a tune. The IAG AOS does a really great job reducing crank case pressure, and creating a higher vacuum. After using this, and also using the oil cap type AOS, this is drastically better than the oil cap type. Night and day difference, even for daily driving conditions. As this was being plumbed, it all made sense to enhance vacuum/PCV efficiency. Overall, its an excellent product. My only suggestion for IAG: Make a strut tower brace that works with the AOS location 🤣

The IAG is a great product and really benefits the subaru motor. Although, if it is your first time installing it can be a bit of a pain. Installation is timely but needed to make sure everything is done correctly.

Slapped it into my 05 LGT took me six hours to install- previous owners had a catch can thing going & routing PCV to the dang atmosphere. it was tricky with not all the OEM parts there to follow on guide. I had the guide & a youtube video open & checked between the two. nine hoses. so far I haven't seemed to be losing much/any oil compared to before. Stoked on it tbh tho, looks good, fit nicely-- one thing is though-- the drain tube elbow fitting is a bit long/tall upon the Y fitting. I had to trim it down some to fit misimoto TMIC, still rubs a bit but hey- good product.

Everything was shipped fast and product was as expected. Installation was super easy with the pdf provided and the video on their website. Would recommend 100% for anyone looking to buy an AOS for their Subaru.

Other than the drain line clamp, install was a piece of cake. Took maybe 2 hours. As for function this Aos is top notch. I'm no longer having to constantly top off my oil and I get some mental well being knowing that I'm not sucking all that oil into my enigne

First off I just want to say IAG customer service has been amazing. I had questions and one issue that came up but they handled it very quickly.
The item itself was well put together. I got the upgraded one that had the connectors instead of the clamps. That made the installation a lot better in my opinion since I have helped my friend install it with the older version. On top of that, some of the hoses were precut and put together already for me which I was very happy to see. The only issue I had which I shared with them already was the 2 connectors were not fitting next to each other on the 2 nozzles on top of the AOS. It was a simple fix where I slightly trimmed the connector to be able to slide it on. Other than that it was a breeze installation besides putting the Intercooler back on which has nothing to do with IAG.
In terms of performance, I have not checked to see if it is doing it's job. I will have to see when I do some other mods if it is doing what it is supposed to be doing. :-)

Does this work with an 09 Legacy GT Spec B? It does not show this product when I use the application guide, but it does when I look up a GT.

Why does the oil return drain back into the top of the main crankcase breather port? Would it not be better to return it via the turbo return or through a galley plug on the bottom half of the block somewhere?
This is the most direct port for the drain and universal between a variety of setups. You can use the 3MI drain hose if you would prefer to drain back at the turbo.
